A.J. Croce finishes and releases Dad's song

for those too young to remember, Jim Croce was an acoustic guitar guy, solo songwriter in the early 70's - which was a popular genre at the time with other artists like Carol King, James Taylor, Cat Stevens, Gordon Lightfoot... Jim Croce wrote and recorded songs like ""I've Got A Name", "Bad Bad Leroy Brown", "Time In A Bottle", and others. He died in a plane crash in 1973.

Apollo quad firewire interface. Taking the plunge!

I've taken the plunge... I found a Apollo Quad firewire going for only £1290 on ebay, 8 mths old like new. I figure since I am not going to spend an awful lot more these days, that's going to be a BIG upgrade from my MOTU Traveller MK3, along with the fact I also have the UAD2 Quad PCIe card in my Mac Pro already.

Tube Guitar Amp for Home Practice and Recording

Hi

1.Im looking into buying a tube amp for home practice and maybe some recording in my apartment.
Many new amps comes with speaker emulated output for recording purpose.
So when using this output will the amp speaker itself be silenced? (So that i can crank up the volume, for recording purpose, without waking the neighbours)

Bock Mics

Forums

Just curious to see if any of our RO members have used Bock/Soundelux Microphones..?
If so, which model(s) have you used, and what do you think about them?
If you have ever used real 47's, ELAMS or U67's, how do you think the Bock/Soundelux reproductions compare?
I've been looking at them, they aren't exactly cheap, either...

Is T-RackS 5 'Master Match' similar to FFT Filter 'Sound Cloner'?

Forums

T-Racks 5 is about to be released and one of the four new processors is the 'MASTER MATCH', that seems to be similar in the way that 'FFT FILTER SOUND CLONER' (a Samplitude's native plugin ) works.

I can be wrong, but at the first look it seems that the IK Multimedias' new tool is an interesting new way to do what SOUND CLONER does.

What do you think?

Using a power amp/mixer as just a power amp for a mixing console?

I'm not sure if this is the right place for this, but I couldn't find a better one. I was hoping someone could clarify some questions I have about setting up a PA system for my home studio. I recently acquired a Peavey XM6 amplifier/mixer and we've been running it through an 80 watt Behringer wedge. We have a set of Yamaha PA speakers that are on their way this week.
