Tips & Advice about new recording studio gear.

Hi, everyone.
He started a new year and I decided to upgrade to the studio. :)
If you have time and you could give me some tips about this gear I would be very thankful.

I now equipped. (Neumann M147tube, Avalon VT-737SP, Apogee Rosetta 800, RME Digiface, Yamaha DM1000 with Digital I/O ADAT Card, Quested v2108, Cubase 8Pro, UAD & other soft...)

I really wish customers would read my advertising blurb!

Just a desperation rant really.

I sell quite a few microphones, via my own website and on ebay. Now I always explain what they are for - and long ago I realised that you have to tell typical ebay buyers that MUST have 48V phantom power means, well, you MUST have it - but still, even after the warnings people buy them.

Timpani Mic

Forums

Hello, I'm a timpanist with little knowledge of audio recording. I'm simply looking to record myself practicing at home (mic 12' away) and at my orchestra hall with the (mic 80' away). I have an AT4040 and Sennheiser HD 512 headphones. Recording into my Mac with Amadeus Pro for simplicity (not doing any editing).

Lots of overdubbed guitars...

Hi! I have a problem.

In my never-ending quest for new tones and textures, I have recently overdubbed my rhythm guitars 20 times.

That's 20 takes of them playing in unison. I want an "orchestra" effect, and I don't mind doing the overdubs.

Thing is, I can't hear them all. I hear what sounds like 4 or 5 guitars. The only difference is volume, of course.

QuiQui - Everything Is A Remix (195 songs in 72 minutes)

Hi, In the past year, I've worked on a project called 'Everything Is A Remix'. In this mix, I wanted to tell a story about sampling and remixing and show how important is has been in the evolution of music. I ended up making the ultimate mashup, including 195 songs in a mix of 72 minutes. I would really like to get some reactions and feedback from you guys!

Home Recording on Android smartphone?

Hi folks, new to this forum and also relatively new to digital recording. I'm curious if anyone knows of a way to do basic multitrack recording using an Android smartphone (I have a Samsung Galaxy S2). I'm looking for the capability to record from an externally connected mic or instrument, the ability to record at mic or line levels, and the ability to bounce tracks.

How can I tune a virtual instrument (vst/vsti) to A 444 hz ?

Hello, I am currently using FL Studio (eventually would like to move on to Pro Tools). I am wondering, how can I tune a virtual instrument? I know standard tuning is A440 hz, however I would like to tune to A444. I am stuck on how to go about this.
Comments much appreciated, thank you.
