Mastering Hotel California
Forums
With the Grammy Awards tonight, it got me thinking about music in general, which led me to listening to arguably the greatest pop rock song of all time, Hotel California ("It's got everything." I once heard someone say.), and found this great live version.

Mic for recording talking and vocals /rap
Forums
I have a sure sm58 and a c4000B AKG.
The problem is I like the sure sm58 for listening to myself talk all day. rap music and chorus singing.
So I want a mic like the sm58 thats good for recording talking and vocals and like performance situations.
400-1200 dollar range

Good evening Recording.Org
I would love to make a little cover of this particular part of one of my favorite songs of all time. The part that I'd love to cover starts right at 3 minutes and 6 seconds & goes until the end:

Latest mix, please offer criticism
Forums
Hi all, this is my first post to this forum and I would like to share with you a project I've been working on for a little while now. It's my own music, recorded here at my house. I think that I've managed to get a decent mix with what I have, but I am asking advice, opinions, what should change, what shouldn't. Regardless, please be honest and unabashed lol.

Studio Microphone Standards?
Forums
On a budget! what would be the short and long list of must have mics you would choose for a studio? short list would be for a small one man operation recording one or two tracks at a time and no live drums and the long list would be for any studio recording bands live and small ensembles.

Shure SM 57/58 + The Arctic Monkeys
Forums
thought this was pretty cool. Sounds heavily edited, and polished, but at least they are using them in the video. Song is definitely more interesting withe the full arrangement, the acoustic version is a bit boring after a couple minutes

Unusual valve unit before tranny amp
Forums
Hi,I'm new here,so first of all. .Hello.
Just been digging around some recordings I started a few years ago and I've found the most terrific sounding late sixties/70's Rolling Stones type guitar sound I've ever heard outside of "Honky Tonk Woman" and similar,it's that good (I wish everything else I'd recorded was),works in mix not just solo.

How to evolve my digital io
Forums
Everything must change... I have been a medium term user of UA's Apollo Quad interface, along with an RME AD-8-DS for extra inputs via ADAT. Recently, UA has started putting greater emphasis on their MAC/Thunderbolt development effort, and letting the firewire support lag behind.
