Things to Consider
Got some very very valuable information today. I will share some of it but can only give limited information.
Basically...if you are going to buy WD drives...buy the 120GB ones.
Buy Micron Memory
Use Maxtor drives more so than anything for the OS.
Never buy IBM drives...Fujitsu makes their drives and IBM slaps their labels on em..

GigaSampler /Kontact
I would love some feedback from users of Giga Sampler or Giga Studio (I don’t know what the difference is). I am considering Giga Sampler in lieu of a hardware sampler mainly due to the fact it would be easier to record-edit-store on my PC. I would love to hear your praises / shortcomings with this line. I am mainly going to use drums / piano /strings /sound effects.

Help
I mostly do electronic music from Reason and using DAW. my friend just gave me a otari Mx 5050 1/4 reel to reel. I love it when I dump the mix from my computer to warm it up a little bit. I just want to know if you can tell me if there is a way to turn this machine into a 1/2 inch? or maybe I am just dreaming big.
thanks

Good In-Studio CD Player?
My current Teac five disc CD player is starting to really bother me. It pretty much won't play any CD's I burn, yet most other players will play them. It's old and I need something better.
Is there a "studio standard" CD player? If not, any specific ones that you guys/girls swear by? Mulitple discs isn't a concern, but it's nice.
Thanks,
Ian

Yamaha DM2000 or Analog summing Mixer
I have a digital 8bus mackie. I hate the way it sounds. I know the Yamaha dm200 has great features but how does it sound. The Mackie does not have clarity imaging or punch. lifeless another words.
I am trying to choose between going for a better digital console or going out of my computer into a Dangerous 2-bus.
