PSU - Opus
Hi Opus.
I'll probably be bugging you for some time til' I finally build my DAW, hope that's ok.
I'm thinking of a chieftec fulltower case that includes a 360w PSU.
Is 360w enough?
I won't be plugging more than a delta1010 an maybe in time a UAD1 in to it.
Thanks/ Eskimo :w:

Could someone explain the reason for the dangerous 2 bus
Hi,
I've been watching the messages on the other boards regarding the dangerous 2-bus. Could someone explain why analog summing would be quantifiably better than digital? What is wrong with digital summing algorithms, that hasn't been fixed?
I did a search on the web for dangerous's web site, and found this:

Mic Diaphram Thickness
I was wondering as (I am looking at different microphones) what effect the diaphram thickness has on mic sound or choice (say 3 micron as opposed to 6 micron) Would the thinner the diaphram the more responsive to transients?
Would thicker be more smooth and therefore a better choice for vocals as opposed to something else?

Yamaha DM-2000 or Dangerous 2 bus
Who has the dm-2000 or ixed on it. It got great reviews. How is the summing of the master 2-bus. Is the dangerous 2-bus a better way to go. I am only talking about sound quality. not the features
thanks

Phantom Power
I have an outboard preamp setup with 8 mic preamps, each with selectible phantom power, the problem is, the design of the system sucks! They put the phantom power switches on the back of unit (rack mounted) along with the XLR input jacks.

portable recording gear advice?
In Fall of 2003, I will be studying theory and composition at a fairly large university. This school's performance majors are required to submit a recorded recital at the end of each semester; naturally, many recordists are needed. I have been producing local amateur singers and rappers for about a year on my DAW but have little experience with location recording.

Home Recording?
I would like to play around in that new mymusicstudio.com site but I need some easy to use home recording software. I'm new to this computerized recording game...any ideas or recommendations on what software is the best to buy for this? That website mentioned Cakewalk. Is that easy to use? Appreciate any help from the experts.---Alex
