After all the great help on this forum, I am now constructing a DAW (my first effort)using the following:

I think that this operating system is born to be the pro audio standard platform.
Having native in-the-system MIDI setup and native multi-channel 32 bit 96 khz audio, and AU standard, is very attractive.
And as CPU speed up, we will se 64 bit floating point and 192 kHz native.

I'm new to your group. opusaudioprojects invited me to participate.
I'm using a Tascam US428 with Cubase SX. I'm really just getting started. I've been having some private lessons and learning a lot.
This stuff is so cool !
I'm just learning how to construct basic drum tracks. I've got the basic recording and eq'ing going.

Hello everyone,
i'm spending most of the time on the harmony-central recording forum, but I think you guys can really help me out..
After saving some money I finally can get rid of my Pentium 2 and buy myself a new DAW.

I already bought a RME multiface/PCI card, i'm going to use XPpro and Logic 5.2.

I'm about to record some pieces for a calssical/acoustic duo (piano, double bass) and I was thinking about trying a pair of 414 TL II as a stereo pair; I know the mics but I have never used them in this position; I usually set up my main stereo pair in a ORTF pattern.
Any advices, or good/bad experiences?
