drive-ectomy

Hey mofros, I got a question for you believe it or not...

here's my situation - I've got a new DAW running Windows 2000 Professional on the OS drive (haven't added an audio drive yet). I want to install my old SCSI audio drive from my previous system, but that old system was running Windows 98 SE.

VIRUS ALERT !

I just got this warning: someone will send you a very nice screensaver of the Budweiser frogs.

DO NOT DOWNLOAD IT. Your computer will crash and you will loose everything.

There is nothing you can do to stop it!

There is no remedy known for this virus.

I'm passing this info because it's very urgent.

Send it to anybody you know.

cheap condenser mike for noisy recording area?

I have a small digital audio workstation (a Zoom MRS 1044) that I use for recording my acoustic pop songs for demos. I presently use stage mikes (Shure 57/58) and a cheap Sony electret condenser. I actually get a decent sound, but I'm thinking I could improve by getting an inexpensive condenser mike (under $150--after all, the rest of my system's pretty modest).

Need Help!

I just assembled a DAW and I was going for the Roland Studio Package Pro but I just saw a deal where I can get the Steinberg Houston Controller and a copy of Cubase SX for $1299. Does anyone have any experiance with the Houstion Controller? Is this a good deal? or will I just be paying $1299 for Cubase SX if the controller is crap.
