Which standalone DAW?
I am looking at purchasing something along the lines of a used Yamaha AW4416 and would like some input as to what is out there that would be comparable. Are the other 16 track units in the same league, or does the AW4416 stand alone because of the automated mixdown capabilities, etc.

SoundDiver Adaptations
Do we have any SoundDiver experts out there? Particularly in the field of Adaptations.
I have been trying to make an adaptation for a simple GM module and I am getting nowhere. If I can't get thins I will never get the complex ones.
It is a long shot but could someone put me out of my misery and show me where to find an adaptation for an Akai SG01k.

Something funny.
happened to me today...I was making a drum loop pattern in Nuendo with Sampletank and as I was on my third layer I suddenly lost audio and a screen popped up saying:
Nuendo will have to be closed due to an error..we are sorry for this inconvenience...
So...is this saying..We're sh*theads and we can't make an OS that works sue f**king sue us ok? Deal with it!

Ghost vs. . Mackie 8 bus
May sound like a silly question, but I've used both these boards but not together so it's hard to judge. Obviously the eq was far superior on the Ghost. But just sound quality in the line inputs (I won't use either preamps) minus eq does the Ghost sound better? Why does it? It's easy to say just because one is a Mackie and the other is a Soundcraft but why is it better?

Kick drum vs. . Bass
I usually, have the kickdrum on the lower frequency spectrum of the song, then the bass etc...like in most rock/pop music. I've do this very well. But lately I've been listening to some recordings were the bass is lower, and then is the kick drum, like the last U2 record. And I was wondering how do you get a clear bass and kick this way, any techniques? I'd like some imput on this.

Studio my Pirelli or am I WAY OFF?
Ok, this is Waaaaay off...maybe. Instead of floating a whole floor on Auralex U-Boats, can I use something else rubber? Like...well, hockey pucks seem too hard and would transfer vibrations I assume. (This isn't for a whole floor, just maybe a platform for amps or. .whatever. Point is, this is theoretical as of now). How would old TIRES work?
