I've got this sick discusting ass hum coming from my computer. I hear it in my headphones. I hear it when trying to sample sounds from my computer...and most importantly and most aggravating...i hear it in my damn recordings. My mic picks it up..i pick it up! I don't want Def Jam or J Records to hear that sh*t. I'll probably need to carry by arse on to a real studio but help me out anyway.

Hey I am always looking for good articles on Drum Tuning for new perspectives I ahve never seen it dicussed here so what do yall got?

So I am wondering what happens to the pickup patter of a figure 8 mic if you 1. Lets say seal or duct tape the rear port or 2. you spilt the mic like you do for M/S but make it so you reverse the phase on the rear lobe so they now both have positive phase?

if anyone knows of any good recording schools in or close to canada, please leave some details. thanx alot

Ok I've been planning on starting at (dread) fullsail in july when my lease runs out. I spent the evening with my mom (who will be paying the bill) and she doesnt want to see me go away blah blah and said if i wanted to she would GIVE me the 28 grand my time at fullsail would cost if i want to start a studio around here. This sounds really tempting to me.

Do any of you have any experience with M-S recording using the Shure ksm44 as the bi-polar mic?
I read a review that said the response from the rear in that mode was "muffled and dramatically different" (see page two para 4, on below link).

I have been trying to find out how this unit sounds but so far all anyone talks about is how or how it don't work like... and most of that seem to be coming from people that are new to recording. We have one on order so I guess we will find out ourself sooner or later, but just courious.

Anyone know? I guess I should ask, "compared to the XT 20's".

-the mxl 603 is 3/4" & wide caroid, the price is less than $100.-!

DAWorld has been up for almost 7 months. "Computing" and "The Digital Cafe" are our stongest forums. Should we transfer them to Pro Talk and retire DAWworld or do you have hope for this area of RO?

Maybe we could merge all the forums into "Computing" and "The Digital Cafe" and keep DAWworld going. Start new forums by going in a different direction.
