Glue
I dont think I have seen it covered here yet so I figured i would post about it. So latly I have been getting a ton of "fixer upper" projects where I come into either mix or track vocals/the stuff the guy before me screwed up. I know a ton of techniques for getting glue in a mix but they arent working well enough for me to get the results I want anymore.

I know Metric Halo is hard at work, but
Does anyone have a little insider clue on how they're doing with the output issues on the Mobile I/O ? I can't keep reloading their unupdated Yahoo Board. It's making me nervous! Might have to bail on this one unless I get a little encouragement soon.
Anyone else here also waiting?
Thanks,
J

MS Micing Technique?
What is and how exactly do you use this technique? A friend of mine told me it has to do with two mics one in a cardiod and the other in a figure eight. Any comments GREATLY APPRECIATED. Or any other techniques to get a very lush 3D vocal sound.
Thanks a lot guys, I really appreciate this!
Keith

Only Dweebs use Pro Tools!
Hey y'all- a recent analog to digital convert here. Say, I've got a general sort of question here. Ever heard the old adage about Orchestra members? You know the sort of archetypes that certain musicians fall into.

In a hole with an iMac?
Hey y'all-I just bought an iMac SE. It has no PCI slot. It seems that USB interfaces are just not the way to go (latency, crashes etc.) Therefore, it appears my only options are to either use an iMic (cool little device check out Griffin Technology)or the MOTU 828 Firwire. Is this true? Am I missing something here? It seems that the MOTU 828 is not compatible with PT.

32 channel Yamaha PM-1000 console opinions?
I posted this on R.A.P. too but got little response and I kind of have to make a decision quick. So I'm just starting up a tiny studio to do demos, learn, and record my band. I'm using a PC DAW with a Mackie 1604 on which I just fried channels 3 & 4. It would cost about $600 to fix.

mounting Tele V7X tube series modules
Has anyone discovered a sturdy, practical method to mount V72, V76 or V78 preamp modules to a metal rack shelf? The modules have a fairly sophisticated lever mechanism that latches two metal tabs behind the module face plate. Very nice if you have the matching cabinet to hold the modules. Any brilliant ideas on how to attach these units to a regular rack shelf?
