Gefell UM900 & Lawson's "ELAM"
What a great forum! Where else could otherwise clueless folks like myself have access to such a collection of expert opinions! (No sarcasm, I'm serious!) Anyway, I've long been curious about the Gefell phantom powered Tube mic (UM900) but have yet to run into one in the flesh.Sure looks cool - but can anyone tell me how it sounds?

MOTU with DA-88s
I have a friend who just bought a 2408 after being told by the salesman that it is all he needed to dump three sync-ed Da-88 into the PC.

Soundelux E47
I noticed Sweetwater had Soundelux E47's for sale. What's the story on this mic? Is it modeled to be similar to the U47? Thanks for any info.

Sony 'Oxford' EQ plugin REVITALIZES Pro Tools! AMAZIN
WAHHHHHH HOOOOOOOOO!
Fukin AMAZING !
First mix done with em, I was running about 25 of them...
Qualities:
"Direct" - there aint no bogus 'veil' across it, this ain't no 'this-will-have-to-do' sound..
"Big" - big sound, great mid control - WITH BALLS -we are talking 'improvement" not 'sound destroying' boost.
Mastering Project update for Oct 11th.
Hello all!
As luck has it...I am going through a divorce and moving.
I will resume the mastering project and mailouts on the week of October 20th.
This is my NEW address...please make a note of it.
Sorry for the delay but moving 20,000 pounds of equipment 700 miles is a royal bitch.

Recording to Tape
I wonder, how many of you pro engineers are still recording on tape?
I'm only interested in the professional engineers because the majority of the home recording guys are using a DAW I guess :)
And which mixing console do you use?

Memory Type? (Parity vs. . non)
Ok...upgrading my IBM box, maximum memory is only 384 MB :( (3X 128 MB).
Question: For audio apps, should I use parity or non-parity memory. I understand that error-checking can slow down the memory, but does it help with audio apps?
