"Best" 1/4" to Rear Solder Patchbay?
OK, so, we now know to get solid nickel contact patchbays rather than plated. Alright, now what's a good 48-point, 1U, 1/4" to rear solder, solid nickel contact patchbay? And what kind of price are we looking at; for 3-blades and 5-blades?

GML 8900
What's up with the 8900? It costs way more than most stereo compressors especially if you add in the cost of the power supply. Is five grand worth it? I could buy a buttload (well a 1176 and a Manley box) for that much moolah.

Thanks to Mixerman and the group
I just wanted to say thanks to Mixerman and the whole group for all the ideas to. I started mixing a project this evening. I kept many things that have been brought up here. Things like arrangement of the mix and the plains of mixing.

Cables and Connectors
It's high time I started making my own cables. Most of what I need is going to be very short run, semi-permenant XLR cables. I'll get Neutrik connectors, but would appreciate advice on what would be a good, reasonably priced cable. Also, could anyone suggest where I should make these purchases, as I am pretty in the dark when it comes to component retailers. Thanks a lot-

Another vote for Nuendo here
I really like Nuendo! I used Samplitude 2496 for years until I tried Nuendo. I still use Samplitude for CD layout & burning but that's about it
I use Nuendo for audio & midi recording, editing, mixing & Mastering. I now do all mixing internally within the DAW with absolute confidence.
Using ASIO 2 drivers (very low latency)

Success with AMD configuration?
I've read over this forum and related sites, which all seem to agree that it is "safer" to go with Intel chips and non VIA chipsets.
I was wondering though, is there anyone out there that is using an AMD and/or VIA chipset without ANY problems? If so, what is your system configuration and what type of work are you doing.
