Under the hood, Pt.2 - Studio Projects C1 vs. . Nady SCM10
Both are multipatten (omni, cardioid, & figure 8) with tiny switches for pattern selection, roll off, and a -10 dB pad.
The Nady is similar in construction to the Marshall V67G except with a shorter, heavier body, and a U87 type grille. The SP C3 is built exactly the same as the C1. Each had 5 transistors.
Fletcher and Buddy Miller
Fletcher, You just went up two more notches of 'cool' in my book. I didn't know you were a Buddy (and Julie) Miller fan? What show were you at when you saw them?

Monitor amp upgrade Q
One of the weaker links in my current setup is the Samson 240 power amp I'm using to drive my Event 20/20 monitors. Not only is it, well, a Samson, but it's a mite underpowered at 120 watts a side (the 20/20s are rated at 150 program/200 peak).

Mastering software
I didn't know if I should post this here or at the Mastering forum. It's pretty much a bottom feeder question :) !

REX 2
Guess there aren't many ReCycle users, but for those who use grooves a lot, I just wanted to ask if there's a way to have stereo groove loops matched to a Nuendo project's tempo, because stereo REX 2 files from ReCycle 2 can't be opened. Any ideas?

Outboard CD recorder recommendations?
Our ancient HHB CDR-800 is slowly bitting the dust. Any recommendations for it's replacement. I wouldn't mind upgrading if possible.
Thanks for any responses.

U87 shock mounts - any decent "generics"?
Totally willing to admit to being a cheap S.O.B. I'm purchasing an 87 next week and the mic does not come with any mount. The Neumann EA87 elastic mount seems really nice, but its also $75 more than an RNC stereo compressor! If there is no decent alternative, I'll shut up and write Neumann a check.

Kingston StorCase removable thingies...
For use with Pro Tools Mix+ mac, 10k rpm drives, ATTO dual scsi... (same ones used by Glyph)
Any new developments with this hardware? Other manufacturers competing (making compatible chassis')?
I plan to put a couple new ones together soon, and need to brush up on the process. Anyone care to do a walkthrough?

RME ADi-8 Pro vs. . PreSonus Digimax
Someone who has tried both can tell me which to pick? I'm recording loud rock music most of the time.
Or just give me opinionson each!
Thanx!
