I have an Alesis Studio32 board with unbalanced TRS inserts on each channel and on the main outs. Like most boards of this (low) caliber, you can't just terminate these things on a patch panel. Something has to be patched in (like a RNC) or else I get no signal. My question is, what would be the most professional way of utilizing these types of insert points?

I'm a small facility owner.
We have 24 track analog, a G4 with a MOTU setup, a couple dozen mics, some outboards, a control room and a 40sqm tracking room.
I was going to ask all of you what was the typical budget for a 10 song project, but rates are so different from a country to another, so it would not make any sense.

What you guys think about this setup:
2 Marshall MXL 603 (overheads)
1 Oktawa MK 012 (bottom snare)
1 RE 20 (kick)
1 SM57 (top snare)
3 Sennheiser 604 (toms)
1 Marshall MXL 2001 (vox)
With this setup I should spend around... 1200 and I still have a spare MXL 2001... comments? Ideas?

Hi, at the topic "ReCycle?" we were talking about a bug which is related to replacement of the audio to a video file (It can't be done). I guess I found another one, resuming the ReCycle issue, apparently a REX file, once imported to an audio track, can't match the tempo of the Nuendo project. I still hope I'm wrong.

Here's the thing: I have a few compressors (2 RNC's and an Ashley SC-50), but from what I understand as the "definition" of a limiter, they're too slow for a limiting application. So what are some good quality options?

Has anyone had a chance to try this board out yet? I know it has Rupert Neve front end and an AMEK back end, but is it a fancy "Big" or a great board in its own right. How is the sound? Pre's and EQ's?5.1 functions? Thanks for any opinions.

Is it possible to record a midi track and still have it go through an analog mixer before it passes to the computer?
I am using a SBlive...
I would really like to record midi but there is a great improvement in sound when it goes through my mixer so I am forced to record audio track. so can it be done?

Can anybody give me any advise on getting a soundcard...Right now I have a SBlive and I want to upgrade to a professional card.
I will mainly be doing audio recording.
