Is the Digi 001 good enough to produce commercial sounding recordings?

Can you get the sound radio ready using just the Digi 001 or is it basically just for making demos?

Sure is allot of talk about Pro Tools. I read about Soundscape now and Digital Performer on chats

Why should I buy the Pro Tools.

I have an old computer apple so I will buy a new one as well.

Has anyone noticed any problems with performances because of recording latency? I've tried using Logic to record vocals, and the singer had real problems (and rightly so!). I usually use PT for this, and I've noticed it's much tighter, but obviously there will be some delay involved.

Didn't know if anyone would be interested, but I found a guy who will record drum tracks to your music on ADAT for $75. He's got some pretty good credentials. I'm considering using him, but haven't taken the plunge yet.

Just an observation here.

We have tried to get the major recording studios ( the ones governed by record labels) to add their studios to RO ( http://www.recording.org ) but have yet had one comments from any of them. The indie studios are very supportive.

Percussion is an area of special interest for me. Anyone have any questions or topics to discuss?

Maybe a bit of a silly question, but working in PT5/LAP 4,5 with TDM FX Drawmer Dynamics & TC Tools & a BBE Maximiser as enhancer & a Sherman FB as euh. next to some other stuff as Kaoss Pad, SRE 555...
`What would you guys/gals suggest as an investment the Distressor or the whole Waves Gold Bundle ?
