Snare problems

I've recently recorded a band who loved the mix, but the drummer was unhappy with the snare sound. Now he's a big guy, with a big kit, and his playing is solid but funky. Very Bonham influenced. Anyway, when we initally discussed the sound they wanted, it was all about getting a huge sound from the kit.

Recording drums on saturday need some help

Hey all so I need your help on something. I have the option of A: using some kind of overhead technique and a mic on the ride and hh or B: Close Micing all cymbals/ride/hh. The style of music is modern punk/emo stuff. The room is not treated but I do have some rockwool wrapped in fabric propped up around the set. I need a wide stereo spread.

Recording drums in nuendo

can anyone give me any tips on how to mix recorded drums so that every thing sound ok? Im a newbie at the whole home recording and I'm using the ezzdrummer, its ok but sometimes the ride cymbal is to low and the crash cymbals are to lound, but if I lower the crashes I lower the ride as well because of the overhead stuff which include the ride and the chrashes...!
