recording drums..ghetto style

i have only four microphones to record the drums with. we do it in a very large open room. usually we put one in the bass drum, one in between the hi-hat and snare, one overhead, and one near the ride cymbal and the floor tom. Sadly this is all recorded onto one track. So all the mixing of the drums must de done before it is recorded. then when eq it, it eq's the whole drumset.

Help with roomy drums

Hey i'm working on an album with my band, and we are currently checking drums in a room that we've treated for the drum sounds we want. I have two LDC's behind the kit about 5 feet back and a couple feet off the ground, and there is a couch immediately behind them (there was a little too much reflection off the back wall getting into the mics and this destroyed it perfectly).

Digi Drums

Hello fellow studio junkies.
I am a drummer/aspiring studio tech.
I currently use Reason and its drum sounds to make beats. Being a drummer I feel it is cumbersome laying down 4 different tracks for something I could play in one take on a kit.
