Hey all, I just purchased the AKG 200 Perception mic to add to my closet, and was wondering if anyone has used this mic and what they thought of it. I know that it isn't the most expensive type of mic or probably the best to use in the studio, but due to budget constraints, I went with this microphone.

I'm going to been recording rap vocals in my home studio and need recommendations for a mic preamp to rent. I'll be renting a U87 and everyone knows how notoriously poor the mic preamps are in the 001. Any advice would be great!

We are in need of live wireless vocal mics. We have a group that sings two-three times a week at our church and they normally have six or seven vocalists.

Right now they drag cables across the stage and things get bunched up, not to mention some of our microphones are on their last legs.

Hey now...

I'm looking to get a pair of multi pattern large diaphragm condensers and I'm interested in the following mics:

1) Shure KSM44
2) AT 4050
3) RODE NT2A

What are your experiences with each model? What instruments do they excel with / not so much?

I have been scrapping and saving for a while now, and finally the woman is going to let me buy another piece of gear! Here's my question, I'm only recording vocals (my tracks are produced elsewhere). I have a tlm-103 and a AT4033 right now tracking through an A-designs mp-2. I'm considering either a new pre (Hardy m-1) or a new mic (charteroaks sa583).

Well I was leaning toward a condenser until I read some topics about condensers. Are Condensers only good for really quiet rooms? I have a air conditioner here running & sometimes it can get loud with pple here. I also have no booth to record in. I have a mixer that has phantom power, but would i be better off with a dynamic mic? I'm recording in a house room here.

I'm trying to decide which to go with for use with a minidisc recorder - the Sony electret condensor mic or ECM-MS907. The first is much smaller but not digital, which is appealing, but I'm wondering if it would record well. Thanks.

my usb mic recently broke, and i am looking at buying a new condenser for recording vocals. I am using a crappy soundmax digital audio card. if i get a mic, could i break my audio card? I dont have the money for a new audio card
