How to avoid phase issues when using more than one mic?
Below is a quote from "recorderman"
I want a good dirty pre and mic
I want a good mic and/or pre that will give me a dirty saturated color. I am not looking for anything clean just something for heavy rock/metal/hardcore with lots of screaming and try on a drum room mic. I hear a lot of good screaming from bands and i don't know what they used to get that sound.

Mic upgrade advice needed
I simply want a setup that has a mic dedicated to a purpose so I can focus more on music (various forms of rock) rather than recording technique. Any help regarding this is MUCH appreciated.
PREAMP:
SMPro Audio Pr8 (modded) & 1 $300-$500 channel for
lead vox (haven't decided which preamp to get yet).

Acoustic Guitar Mic - $500 - $800?
I've been reading and doing research, but still can't decide on what acoustic guitar mic to get with a budget of $500 - $800.
What is the most precise mic in this range that will make you feel like you are almost in the room with the guitar?
Has anyone heard anything about Schoeps mics? If so, please elaborate on experience.

time for new Drum overhead mics
Hey, I've been using the same drum overhead mics for every project I do myself or for others the past 5 years, and I think it's time to change it up. It's not that I dislike the sound I just don't want to have the same overhead sound, ya know. I have been using the AKG c430's matched pair for those five years and now I am looking for another sound.
