Hi everyone
I see a lot of people using Pro Tools as their choice for music software... why can't i see anyone mentioning Cubase sx etc..?
Is there a reason why nobody seems to use Cubase or most people seem to use Pro Tools?

Here I am again with my ?'s, does any one own the Gt 66 if so how is it?

To those wondering why so many ?'s.

My band is going to do the drums for our next album in a nice studio recording on tape, then bounce to dp4 for the tracking of guitars, bass and vocals on our own.

What should be our main concern beside getting good sounds.

anybody have any opinions on a mic that would go well with the UA 6176? I would mostly be using it for male vocals in pop/rock/alternative styles. also some female vocals. what do you think?

I'm going to pick up a new vocal mic soon to be used on male rock/blues. I'm looking in the $500 - $1000 range. If it helps, the preamps I've got to chose from are the Focusrite ISA428 and Vintech 1272. Will also probably try using with acoustic instruments and distant mic for kick drum.

I'm looking at a RODE NT2000 or something around $600. The fully variable pattern interested me.

I've basically decided that this is the next microphone for me. Up until now my best mic is an AKG C3000B so this is a big step for me. My question is: What is a fair price for a new mic and also for a used mic in good shape?

I've looked all over the Internet and can't find a site that sells this mic new. Any recommendations there also would be great.

Does anyone have an opinion on this mic? How good is it (for the price)? And what is the difference between the C3000 and the C3000b model except from the colour? What instruments is it usable for?

I'm looking for a new Large Condenser Mic. My current roster of mics are (4)RODE NT-1A's, RODE NT-5, AT-4040, (2) 421's, and the run of the mill 57's and 58's.

I read with interest your 'sticky' (sounds rude!) in the Recording Studio thread concerning 'studio standard' mics. Although I am sure there is a lot of good advice there I was wondering if you could do a similar list for those of us on a tight budget.
