Forums
When i do drums with fruity loops(that means with samples), i dont realy need copreesion for dynamic of drums. Right?
And when i like how (for exmp) kick sound and i dont need "extra punch" or something than i dont even need use compressor like a effect...
So is it possible to not use compressor on drums at all?

Need help adding outboard gear (or plugins)
Forums
I recently purchased a Fostex MR8-HD to record some demo-quality material. Now, I believe the next step in making some of these recordings "decent" is to add some outboard gear (or plugins). Having very little knowledge I'd like to know some opinions on what to purchase first, and if I should purchase units that are "all-in-one". I haven't

Reaper: PseudoFreeze & Xternal Hardware AutoDly Compensa
Forums
Just letting you guys know of some important improvements to REAPER, for anyone who's been waiting for certain features to be added before they try it.
Just added ReaInsert, a plug for sending audio/midi from any FX Chain to external hardware and back...and has auto-detect delay compensation.

Forums
hey,
Is there anything wrong with just having female XLR connectors on one end of the snake, and male XLR connectors on the other? Is there any particular need (like for a ground maybe?) to have a chassis for the inputs?

Referencing another track with Autotune
Forums
I'm currently working with a very good singer who has just moved onto the mic in the past few years; we are now recording what should turn into the first track of the album. However, he isn't confident in his ear hearing any out-of-tune notes, and wants to use Autotune in this method:
1. Place autotune onto the master fader, find out the overall pitch curve of the mix.

Exporting to quicktime on Pro Tools le
Forums
so I've done the mix, all the music and have told the DOP that I'll have the latest copy real soon. Then I bounce to Quicktime and everything works. I open the new movie in Quicktime and the Audio doesn't match the video (not in sync). The audio was in sync in the mix. I don't understand whats going on here.
