Preventing track bleeding in Cakewalk
Cakewalk Home Studio 2
=========================
I imported an mp3 file of music to track 1.
I recorded vocals on track 2 with a microphone.
When playing back and listening to track 2 by itself, (with the mp3 music from track 1 muted); there is the presence of the mp3 music from track 1 mixed in with the vocals on track 2.

Way newbie...
I've been making music for about 10 yrs now and I want a way to record ideas that I have. I've been in many bands, some to varying degrees of success than others...everything from "made a CD" to "played together once". Basically, I'm looking for a way to record music by myself.

Compression settings and understanding them
Im stuck with my Alesis 3630, Ive found that trying to understand the manual is a real process within itself.
Ive been knob dicking with it for about 1yr now,and have found the good and bad in the unit,but to tell you the truth,I still have confusion when it comes time to really understanding,threshold,ratio,attack,release etc.

pro tools
I've been recording with Sonar 3 for some time now, and have had very good results with it, but I keep hearing about the popular Pro Tools, used in professional studios: what is it that makes it so outstaing over the rest of the recording programs? Has it got anything that makes it special?
