Hey everyone. Not too long ago I purchased a Mic and plugged it directly into my sound card. And let's just say that when I screamed into it, it only picked up a little tiny signal and sounded like a scream far, far off...obviously not enough signal for recording...Is this cause I need a preamp?

I am putting together my first attempt at building a home studio.
Up until now, I have usually recorded with ADATs. I like ADATs but there are certain limitations.

I'm using digital performer for a project. i've got a combination of MIDI tracks and recorded soundbites in the file. the MIDI stuff is going through a Kurzweil keyboard and the soundbites are being played back through a DigiDesign MBox. both of these are hooked up to a mixing board, so i can monitor both at the same time.

I currently have a 61 key triton workstation. Switching over from playing my rhodes to this thing is pretty painful- the key action is awful. So I want weighted keys.

Question 1: anyone using that new m-audio 88 key hammer action controller? It looks amazing, and at $500...a good deal.

Hi, Does anyone have any experience with TC Electronic Powercore? What is your opinion? and how does it compare to UAD studio pack plugins? Any help greatly appreciated! Thanks.

Well, I'm still working on a good setup to start mixing with monitor-wise. I know that some of you are probably sick of hearing me ask monitor questions. I know I need to choose something and just learn how to mix on it. But I do want to make sure I start on the best foot I can start on. Right now low-end is a problem - I just can't hear it well enough to make good decisions.

Studio kit:

I have just bought a Behringer BCA 2000 control audio unit, and am having major problems using it with Logic 5.5, and until getting updated drivers from Behringer , couldnt record or playback and music.

When recording, or playing back, i get the error messages -

' The ASIO driver recieved a reset request' and asked if i want to start logic
