Fostex VF80EX Software Update.
;)
Then, as you do, I checked the methodology they suggest to do the upgrade. .
"Use the SCSI interface. ." says the blurb.
 But the VF80ex does NOT HAVE a SCSI interface.
So, if anyone can shine some light on how I can update the software I am open to suggestions?

Help! I can't make up my mind!
Hello fellow recording folks,
I own/operate/sweep-up afterwards a small remote recording operation way up here in the wilds of Toronto, ON, Canada. Anyhoo, I record exclusively acoustic events for whom ever. I've been running a 2-track business to the tune of 400 concerts recorded in the past 7 years, so I must be doing something right.

AEA R84?
I've got about $1400 to spend on mics for a new home studio, and I am considering getting an AEA R84, which will blow about $900 of my budget. I've read many great reviews of this mic that rave about how it sounds fantastic on almost everything. The other option I've been considering is a stereo pair of AKG 414's, which I can get for around $1000.

Wavelab Essential Mastering
I'm not a sound engineer and therefore I do plan on taking my finished project to a professional to be mastered.
However, with music being my growing hobby, I do want to invest the time and money (self-education) in learning more about the mastering process.

Distressor users out there?
Hey guys, i'm fairly new to the Empirical Labs EL-8x Distressor. I really like what I hear so far but I thought it might be cool to have a forum just for Distressor and FATSO talk. There is some pretty cool info I found by searching but you have to wade thru a lot of stuff to get to the interesting tid bits. Just my thoughts.

SIAB or Software
I've been involved with recordings now for a while... Now I want to invest in my own home studio. I'm trying to make the decision between software or an siab.
If siab, then I'll get a Korg d1600mkII (or Tascam 2488) w/ Acid Pro 5 on the PC.

Sonar 4 worth the upgrade?
Hello! As you can see this is my first time here. From the looks of the threads I have been looking over, this will hopefully be my new audio forum home. I used to frequent audioforums.com, but after a few months break, I returned to find the forums almost empty! anyways...
