I'm interested in getting a Focusrite red 8 for my drum over heads. I have a set of 414's as well as a pair of 4050's. I'd love to try with it. It seems like a good choice from the research I've done but, I cant seem to find anyone I can talk to that has actually used one for this application. anyone have any opinionson the red 8 ?

when i get done mixing something with Sonar 3.. the levels look good, the sound wave levels dont look too loud or soft.. they are about 75-80% at their peeks. but when i mix it all down to a wav, the sound is much too low. how do i fix this. and can i increase the volume on each track by Xdb without it distorting? should i mix with them at their loudest level or what?

I've finally put aside $1500 to go towards a pro-level mic preamp. I've read here on RO over the past 6mths about various prefences for clean vs coloured mic preamps. I've listened to the Sebatron tests performed by Kurt. I would like to know the forums thought on a mic preamp that would best suit R&B and ocassional hip hop .

I'll be purchasing Logic 7 soon and I was hoping someone could tell me how to master a track as best I can with the plugins supplied with it.

I'm wondering a good mic preamp match-up for a Soundelux iFet7. Anyone had any experience with this mic? It's built with a Neumann capsule (sort of) so maybe that will help.

All I need is one channel. I only record my own music, and that music involves synth, heavily processed electronic drums, and vocals. My goal is to improve the sound of my vocals.

I'm using the StudioProjects C1. My preamp is the Mackie 1202-VLZ Pro.

Specifically the 1073DPD preamp and the 33609/J /JD compressor.

Upon investigating a bit about these prosessors, it seems some people are very emotional about specific models !

Some say that the 33609 compressor isn't all that UNLESS it is a 33609 A model. ?

I have a Behringer DEQ2496 mastering processor and I know it is possible to control it from MIDI.

The question is how?

I have never set up or used external hardware to be controlled from a DAW. Has anybody done it with the DEQ2496?

The 32 track limit on pro tools le sucks, I know that you cant use pro tools software without Digi hardware but...
-Can i get Logic, Cubase or digital performer to work with the 002 rack?
-Can i get a new software to work with the Digidesign core audio setup?
