When setting up a track for recording, do I want my level meters in the red(but well away from zero) for the average "volume" or just during the loud parts?

I'm definitely interested in this unit. Does anyone have any first hand experience with it they'd like to share?
Has anyone compared it to any similarly prices units on the market?
Thanks for any info you can give me.

a problem
What's the deal with Alécio Costa? Was he asked to leave and if so why? Why was my post deleted when I asked about him? I consider a lot of these folks on RO my friends. I feel the members that frequent this place have a right to know what's going on. Alécio gave me the impression that he was removed as monitor without his knowledge.

hey guys I'm confused with this card?
okie day, Im currently looking to expand my channels from 2 to 12 or 16. Im doing this because I'm starting to record drums now, and after getting some really good Micing techniques from you guys, I am not happy with a guitar cab unless it has at least two mics on it. so I was looking at the MOTU 196 HD system and the Lynx AES 16 channel card.

overdubbing in Sonar 2?
I have master tracks recorded in sonar2.
When I add a track (ie guitar solo) The timing of the new track is out of sync by approx 3 seconds.
Any idea how to correct this?
Thanks,
Pat
