I'd like to get a survey of what everybody likes to use on their drums with regards to reverbs, delays, and some oher spatial effects. Do you use outboard gear or plugins? what are they? any settings you like to shoot for? any tricks? I'm not looking for a "what's the best way blah blah blah" here, just whatever you like to do on your drums depending on the style.

I'm curious and I'm making plans to purchase a distressor for some general mixing and mastering. Is this a unit worth looking at? And if so, is it good for the apps just mentioned? Also what would be equivilent if I decided to go with another make/model? Need some feedback.

Im looking to pickup some good mic cables and noticed there are quite a few differnet types.
Some being Hi-z, some Lo-z. What is the differnce and what would be a good mic cable type and brand for dynamic/condensor mic. thanks

Any one ever heard any of these pre's or consoles? Was thinking of racking 2 up as they are fairly cheap...

Read and heard that this stompbox-shaped el-op/tube compressor is very nice. A great (and cheap) way to get LA-2-style compression. Anybody know how to get one ? Is the company (Retrospec) still around ? Searched the web and didn't find much. Anybody tried the squeezebox ? Help me get one...

In some of the audio mags I read I see projects where someone takes a cheap mic and tears it down and replaces a bunch of parts and makes it a better piece of gear, so they say. Is it possible to improve the sonic characteristic of an ART DI/O preamp? For example, would putting higher quality tubes in it be a worthwhile thing?

I run Pro Tools 5.1 on a 733mHz Mac with 1.5 GB of ram in my mac, one processor.
I never run anything at the same time as pro tools, and pro tools is what I run mostly.

I was just wondering when a manufacturer says thier product is all class A circuitry, does this mean that it really does meet some strict standard or this is just a subjective thing.
