Sonar compression

I have ardvark q10, Sonar 3, Alesis m1 active monitors, and a cabnit of moderate to decent mics. My question is 2 part really. First off, i dont feel that Im getting the quality that I should with vocals. The ardvark is very hot but when it comes down to tracking i would rather keep the vocalist close to the mic than for them to pull away on the high or loud notes.

What's My Next Front End?

I'm currently using a Yamaha AW4416 as my front end mixer. I track through a Sytek MPX-4A to the Yamaha, and connect to Nuendo through ADAT Lightpipe through a Nuendo Digiset. I have found the sound quality of 24 bit at 48k to be decent sound quality, but wonder what some other (better) options would be in terms of a front end for my system.

Why a phase problem when adding reverb?

As the question asks, when I do even a rough mix of some sounds I'll add some reverb. As I turn up the return I here a BIG time phase difference!
It makes me want to shut it off. I notice this particularly when monitoring in headphones, less in the mains.

I also here this when I do a mix on a DAW sometimes.
