I am beginning to research studios and I have no idea what to include in my resume. Please help me out in this respect!

I apologize for posting this twice, I'm just not sure what category this would fall under because I'm new here...

My band and I have fiddled around with mics and things in order to get desired tones -- and we're pretty happy with what we've got in that department. However, when we compare it to other CDs (we know they use $1,000s of equipment, engineer work etc. but...), we find a major difference: volume levels.

i was wondering if anyone know how to reduce the shake caused by subwoofers. my subs are at half way and it shakes the entire house and my wife is getting annoyed. thanks

i am about to start recording a project that will be mainly finger picked quiet guitar and vox.

My Neumann M149 which I was hoping to use has developed a fault and its gonna take a couple of weeks at least to get back from the servive center.

I am going to take the plunge and purchase my 2nd "high quality" (or maybe 3rd as i also own an AKG414) condensor mic.

I know many people have the Alesis HD24XR & HD 24, 24 track hard disk recorders. In the past, numerous people have indicated that a loss of power and/or other type of connection problems can cause a disk to become unreadable by the machine or through the fire wire transfer unit. This recently happened to me. I figured, I would speak to Alesis directly at the AES show.

In the process of trying to scale down, I'm moving to Firewire and a laptop instead of Lynx AES 16 cards and a desktop and monitor...

So I'm looking at upgrading my central control unit from a Beri mixer, and am looking for some advice.
The Central station is pretty close to what i want, but doesn't have enough analog inputs, has other bells and whistles that i don't need, etc.
the coleman M3PH MKII is pretty close, but at almost a grand, i'd want *exactly* what i want, not pretty close...

I have a small home studio and just want to get an opinion on mixing using headphones vs monitors. Good idea / Bad idea? Please let me know.
