Antelope Audio Presents "Butterflies" using Zen Studio
Pretty impressive. This is a really affordable SS Pre/converter/interface.
The track sounds a bit edgy/ top heavy? but its definitely very impressive to me. Nothing a few extra tracking tools wouldn't solve.
What do you think?
Best brand of Hard Drives for audio?
Over the years, I've had 5 hard drives go out on me, and they were all drives used for A/V work. No other drive has ever failed me, except after a long and healthy life. I've got drives that are measured in megabytes that still work, but they weren't A/V drives.
So, it seems a pattern has emerged, at least for me.

Crash! Bang! Boom! Need backup advice...
So it finally happened. I just lost my bands first two CDs of music in the form of the original Cubase multi-tracks.
I can reconstruct them, and I will.
I need advice on a small backup system so that this can't happen again. I can't spend a thousand dollars on a nice box. Something more ghetto, but functional, would do.

Any ideas how they recorded this? North Mississippi all stars .
I heard this tune on the Boston college radio a few months ago, and it jumped at me instantly. It popped up on my Amazon prime today and I recognized it. It looses some of the 'intimacy, or there with them' quality with the YouTube conversion, but full fidelity really sounds amazing thru my iPad and mackoes hrs, which are by no means top level.
Antelope Audio 10M, fact or fiction
Without Prejudice:
I want to be very clear about this post. I appreciate good gear that helps the mutual advancement toward better recording. I will try to be careful with my words.

What about the new Audient ASP800 ?
HI guys,
I already have 10 somewhat colored preamps and since I changed my Saffire 56 for a RME ff800
I'm missing a few preamps to drive a complete band.
There isn't many choices around 1 k. I'm planning the buy at the end of summer.
I had a Octopre and was disapoined by it.. it's a bit narrow sounding and doesn't have enough gain and headroom for my taste.

Broader sounding mixes
My question and comments has had a lot of debate .
I noticed while I was tracking with the 610 and Avalon that when I was trying to mix afterward the tracks did not sit in the mix as well . When I tried the Pacifica and a Neve 1073 the mixes in the box were so much better . They had so much more depth .

Opinions on varying mastering levels (Amazon prime)
hey all,
I've been using this subscription, used service for a few months. The audio quality is good. I have music spanning from the 70s-current, on my playlists.
The i find the difference between songs levels, enough where they are uncomfortablely soft or loud, sometimes when playing back to back.
