I have a dual G4 DP righ in my studio but I I wanted a lap top for remote recording as well. The ibooks had caught my eyes as you can get one for as low as $999, which is great for a mac. I had posted my intention and users had said that the imac was great, so I took the plunge.

If you were out shopping for a converter which would you choose?
Any of you like one over the other? is there any better? I'm looking to buy Crane Song Hedd but not sure. Any feedback would be appreciated.

Ok. I'm going to school in the fall. get my degree in pro. recording arts. Im wanting to have a computer at home for production. Im curious as to what i would NEED pc or mac wise. Ill be using Reason 3.0, Ableton live 4, native instruments reaktor, absynth, and Cubase possibly. What do i need in a pc? what do i need in a mac? what about sound cards? ill be also using a m-audio ozone or O2.

My buddy just emailed and told me his dad is looking at getting rid of a "perfect shape" mid 70's Fender Mustang and a "reverb amp"

I am in the process of trying to get more info on the amp and guitar,

but would anyone have any idea what he should ask for the guitar?

To be honest I regret buying the Mobo, and Pro cause i could have got better ones, but I was being impatient at the time and was determined to leave the shop with something, and ended up paying £30 extra when I could have got it cheaper or better off the net, but I will just be humble and see how it goes.

after recording for a year with just an sm58 (and no pre), i recently bought a new condenser mic. instead of just buying a phantom power adapter for it (which i initially wanted) the salesperson convinced me to get a basic preamp for a few more bucks.

I was just wondering why everyone seems to use an external HD. Isn't the performance much better using an internal?

Hey there, the one thing holding me back from grabbing an 896HD is the lack of midi.

do any of you guyz know if I could I double it with something like an M audio phile card I have in the PC already and use the midi on that, while leaving the MOTU for all other duties?

I'm juts a bit worried about driver conflicts in Cubase SX
