I am practicing with a band that I've been writing some songs with. I would like to make a mono recording of the practice just to gauge where we're at and to see if there is potential. Also, to help audition a vocalist.

I'll be using a Boss BR-532, with the 128mb smart media installed I should be able to record 1 mono track of an hour and a half.

I'm just curious. I have the mpx-4aii and love it, and know there are a lot of users. But I don't know anyone to use the mpt-1.

I'm not looking to buy, I'm just curious. I would love to demo one someday.

My high school group just got back from New York and a wonderful choral festival with world class clinicians (Weston Noble, Andre Thomas and Goeffrey Boers) and a performance at Lincoln Center. They sang exceptionally well and we were all anxious to hear what we sounded like in the house. Unfortunately due to some mix-up on someone's part it didn't happen.

I noticed small difference between both..

with the same audio source recorded to both format,
after lots of a/b listening I found that wav is
slightly higher in 1.5k-2k than aiff.
Comparing with the source, aiff won.. It's identical

fyi, I record in WL4.0

I just did. It wasn't very nice :(

My Computer Monitor produces a lot of line noise when recording through a mic or an acoustic guitar pickup. By moving around and aiming the mic/guitar in different directions I can greatly reduce the noise that is picked up but not eliminate it totally. And If I turn the monitor off, I have a very clean, noise free sound.

Im using an audiophile 2496 right now, and i've read some reviews from other users. They made comments about it being kind of noisey and that it had a low feature count. I need help on finding a quality interface thats not to costly or a hassle. My price range is around the $150-600 area. .any help would be greatly appreciated

I am thinking of buying the PreSonus Firepod. All I want to do is basic recording of demo's on guitar with vocals and hopefully record my band. Anyone have the pro's and con's on this unit?

Cost aside, would it be better to build a DAW with say 2 Opteron 244's (1.8 Ghz) or a single P4 3 ghz S775 ?

Trying to decide between ASUS A8V DELUXE (Via) or GigaByte GA-K8NS ULTRA (nForce3.) Does it matter that I'll be getting an nVidia graphics card?
