I am building a custom patchbay for my preamps and compressor. All of which are 1/3 rack sizes (no, they are not tiny Universal Audio preamps. :roll: )

Instead of wiring a XLR and TRS for the balanced lines in, those combos from Neutrik would be the best thing. I don't even know if its OK to just wire a TRS jack and XLR up together to common lines (ganged 1, 2, 3).

Hey guys, I am pretty embarrased to have to ask these questions, but you all seem pretty cool, so I figured you wouldn't make too much fun of me for my lack of knowledge. I just got my studio project C1 yesterday, and it came with a wind screen. I have never used a wind screen in the studio, just live.

Ok here's the deal. Everytime I record guitar into soundforge 7, I get a clicking noise. I just recorded some vocals and everything was fine, no click. I am Micing my amp with a Shure sm57, which does not touch the grill. I have tried different patch cables, made sure there is no clipping what so ever, and also tried a different mic, the EV ND257B.

i installed the audiophile 2496 to my pc, and it works great with my two 5' samson rubicon monitors. But, after i installed the audiophile soundcard, for some reason, when i plug my headphones to my pc, which is (my Stock Audio Card) i dont hear nothing... i cant even choose my stock (old) soundcard's drivers on Reason's Audio Preferences Drivers.. i only see the audiophile drivers.

I have to transfer some reel tapes to CDs. The tapes are dbx encoded and have a series of recorded tones. Are these tones for heads alignment only, or do they have something to do with dbx adjustment, as well? Also, I'd appreciate insights on proper dbx adjustment. I have all measuring equipment and know how to use it.

I guess my topic explained my problem, but I just bought Pro Tools 6.4 (about to be updated to 6.7) and and Mbox. I am using a PC, not a mac.

In my couple of years of recording, i have accumlated a library of vst effects and i want to be able to use them in Pro Tools...I am sure this is possible.

I have a four track Akai GX 630D SS reel-to-reel tape machine, and I'm wondering if anyone can tell me anything about it? I'm running a small studio and was considering incorporating it into the setup as quite a feww locals like the analog sound...in fact some of them are die hards for it which is fair enough.

Hows everyting all? Im at that point wit my studio that I have built up a decant studio. Have gotten a slight name on the streets. How have yall promoted yall studiosand solved the "new studio" dilemma? I did 3 mixtapes basically for free for 3 different artists. Then a mixtape for my studio featuring me and my boyz rapping, gave it away for free with the studio name and contact.
