I'm running a 17" powerbook with an MBox and a Lacie D2 extreme hdd and i'm just after any ideas to help optimise CPU power.

Does anyone know where I can get a Soundcraft 200 manual?

I just bought this old mixer for $100. The pres sound nice but there're some bugs with the faders and pan knobs.

I have a Tascam CD-RW5000 recorder. I've heard that the new high-speed CDR blanks might not work ay 1x. Tascam tech support has been silent on this (surprise, surprise.) I'd hate to invest in spindles of media which will not work.
Am I now stuck using only 'music' CDs?

I just upped the memory on my DAW running XP Pro from 1 GB to 3 GB. Are there any memory tweaks that i need to make or should make to the system to utilize all of it?

Ive been trying to record good acoustic guitars for some time now. I use the MC012 stereo pair mostly. With one mic over the guitarists right shoulder, and another at the same height, placed bout the 8 frety, looking down.

Is this too good to be true? I suppose that's difficult to answer as it hasn't come on the market yet, but i suppose it's promising -a relatively inexpensive way to use the Blue Bottle capsules on a more economical solid state body.

One concern I'd have is matching the bodies, given that the Baby Bottle can vary quite a lot from each other. Still, it's an enticing prospect.

how come whenever i try to use any condenser on a guitar cab it just doesnt sound as nice as a 57? ive tried a few different mics(AT 4033's, SE 3300's, SE 5600's, RODE NT 1's and NT3's) and they just sound middley with not much brightness and balls...

I was looking into home recording and I'm not quite sure, but I think that the best/easiest/cheapest way to start out would be a usb audio capture device.

I was looking at something like these:

or

2. M-Audio MobilePre at $150
