hey, I am new to computer recording and not sure what to get as a system. i have tried some demos and i like Ableton live a lot but i have heard of latency issues? I need a midi/audio that will run to my laptop vie usb or firewire, and I am looking at the ozonic. I plan to do computer music and multitrack recording, how do you think i should set this up?

I'm looking for a quality/cheaper interface and control surface. I was looking at the US-428. Any suggestions for either soundcards or control suraces? I need something clean and reliable.

This may sound as a weird question.

Does it make sense to buy a pair of monitors for listening ONLY? I understand that, as a rule, they sound only as good as the recording, revealing everything within it. I wouldn't buy the usual speakers, I want to avoid any sort of coloration, just want to hear music the way it was recorded. I would welcome any education on this subject.

HI. I have a 60 cycle hum coming out of my Mackie 24/8 mixing board. I have tried lifting the ground but it doesn't help. Is there a way of using a graphic equilizer to take it out. Any suggestions would really be great.
