Hey has anyone heard the new marsvolta CD? This is a must listen to if you are into recording, the way it was recorded and mixed and sound is just amazing. Now the drums on that CD I want to know how to mic up.

Recently had the privilege of recording on site a string quartet comprised of the primaries from the Midland Symphony plus a few guests...Each of the two pieces lasted 30-35 minutes, with wildy varying movements within the pieces.

I recently purchased a new HD (Hitachi Deskstar) for dedicated storage of my audio. Previously I used the same drive for my programs and Audio. This worked fine, but I needed more storage and heard it was generally better to use two drives.

I know there have been many discussions on this mic, but I'd like to know if anyone on the Acoustic Music forum uses these. I know some people use nothing else on piano, and others like them for mains. Of course many people HATE these mics with a passion.

I have a guy that wants to sell me two 30 band White EQ's. Ever heard of them? Any good?

FIRST OF ALL I WANT TO THANK EVERYONE THAT HAS SUBMITTED POTENTIAL SOLUTIONS TO MY PROBLEM. BUT THERE IS SOME GOOD NEWS. I HAVE BEEN ABLE TO ISOLATE THE AREA OF THE PROBLEM. I USE THE PLATINUM WAVES EFFECTS.

I'm wanting to put together a PC based portable project studio to record demos for bands on location (where they rehearse,live shows,etc.). Here's the gear I'm looking at. I'd like to know if anyone thinks I'd be making a mistake with any of these items! Thanks!
PC: ADK pro audio Pete Leoni system w/ M-audio delta 1010lt card
Preamp: SM pro audio PR8 MkII 8 channel preamp

right now my recording signal chain is:

RODE NT1000 -> Mackie XDR preamp -> M-audio Delta 44

Since I'm not totally satisfied, I plan this upgrade:

AT4033 -> Phoenix DRS-1 -> M-audio Delta 44

Obviously the delta 44 is the weak link in the chain, but I don't know whether it really is a problem :?

I'm trying to connect my Yamaha s03 to my Creative Sound Blaster live!

Heres the scenario: I am trying to transfer 8 tracks of analog (one with SMPTE) into my computer using a SMPTE to MTC (JL Cooper) box into a Midi to USB cable (sync) through a pair of nice converters. This forces me to dump tracks two at a time and line them up by hand in PT.
