I also posted this over at the 3dB board, but I do not think many of you hang out there.

I am using Mackie 824s for reference monitors.

Why is it that when I make small adjustments in EQ,
compression, reverb, etc, that I cannot hear on the Mackies,
I can hear those same adjustments on my home stereo system which, by the way, is in the same room?

Anyone compared both? Any comments. IS the M300 more like a Neumann KM84? If so, is it worth the extra $ for the 295?

having problems using a dynamic mic with a XLR jack,I'm not getting any sound,the manual says you can use a dynamic,but can't seem to figure it out.i tried the 1/4 inch jack that works fine.any help would be great.

okay, so you've finished your arrangement, a combination of midi and audio parts and you're about to start the actual mixing process. first you have to mixdown your midi to an audio track. i'm talking here about computer-based recording but i suppose the question would be the same for tape-based recording too.

I am currently digitizing my vinyl collection, and am running into a problem. After the record is done recording (skip free) I play back the file and there are "skips" in the track.

I have tried adjusting latency, unhooking from the web, and just about every other tip, all to no avail.
