i recorded this stuff, with a mixer with an analog out into my pc's stock line in headphone jack. i used cool edit pro to mix it. tell me what u think.

Okay, so after thinking and reading alot, I think I'm going to stick with my msp5s for mixing. I feel like they're accurate - the only gripe I have is low-end.

I'm adding some auratones through a haefler amp for some hi-fi (low-fi) mix-checking.

I'd also like to add a subwoofer for just checking how it sounds down there once in a while. I won't actually mix with it on.

i need a rack for my home studio but i dont know where to find a good one... it doesnt need to be very tall maybe just 5-6 spaces...which should i get, and where should i get it?

I'm getting mixed opinions about how to make the life of tubes in mics, amps, comps etc as long as possible. Should I for example turn off my vintage Neumann when taking a break or should I leave it on ? Does turning on/off the gear all the time wear out the tube more than leaving it on ?

Does the rosetta have the same clock chip as the Big Ben? Does anyone know if there is a difference?

I have a 1982 Mark IIb (6L6s and 12ax7s). I'm curious if I have any other tube options to change the tonality. I would like to tweak it to make it closer to the glassy clean tones you get from old Fender amps.

ok, I have just recently aquired a Mackie vlz micro series mixer from a friend of mine who it works fine for. .and he's was running it to a to an old sb16 card recording in 16bit 44khz with an AT4045 I think. .I'm running it to a sb audigy 2 platinum with an AT3035 mic. recording at 24bits 96khz.

So, I have a lowly MOTU HD192 as my main conversion system. If I were to get something like a Lucid word clock generator, would I be drastically improving my audio? I mean, enough to really notice? Also considering the fact that I mix on an analog board, so I'm going in and out a couple of times throughout the entire process.
Any input would be helpful.

I've just a built a studio at home and Im, using a Behringer mx8000 mixer with a Tascam 8 track reel-to-reel recorder. having a problem setting up. Just wondering if anyone out there still use's this gear and can give me any advice?
