I feel extremely stupid asking this, but here it goes. .how do I know if something is out of phase?

Now for my main question: What are the sonic/statistic differences between the first and second series of KRK V8's? Has anyone done a side by side comparison?

Could someone suggest a very general assortment of tests that could be performed on preamps in order to narrow down which two best suited my needs?

I would like to hear how others test pre's before purchasing 2 new ones in the near future.

This probably sounds weird, but I have been using a bose wave radio as a monitor on projects I record for my band. It worked pretty good, but I wonder if it is not a good idea as stuff tends to sound fuller through these speakers then most other speakers. So I'll mix a song down to CD, put it in the CD player in my truck and then be like "were did the fullness go?"

Does anyone know anything about IPR...(Institute of Production and Recording) in Minnesota? The production program sounds a lot more up my alley becuase it's more 'producer driven' than engineer driven. But it's a relatively new program and I don't wanna be a frozen guinea pig in vein.

Some questions that I'm dealing with lately is why mixer engines is so different in DAW programs.
Some sound grainy and like they have no depth and others sound better...

Do anyone in here know if PT LE has the same mixer engine as PT TDM or HD soundwise? or does it not sound as good as the bigger systems?

I have came across enuf money to make a platform change. I am a longtime Sonar user. I am thinking of going Pro Tools. How much of my exixting setuo will I be able to keep. Tascam US-428m DXI'x and VST's. What system is recomended entry level but expandable. I just had a death in my family and don't feel like diggin thru tons of lititure and spec's. So any suggestions would be helpfull. TIA.
