well, I'd like to compress the low Freq of the snare separate as I do with the insterts.

I mean to use a Eq+Comp through the insert and to use a different Comp. for the low. (I'd like to check how it sounds)

I never worked with side chains etc. :oops: and I'm sure that you can give me a tip.

I work with Pro Tools.

I called MOTU tech support and they said to disable my internal sound card (which i thought I already did) but they didn't say how. I have a AThlon 2600 PC running windows XP Home Edition. Can someone help me out? Thanks

As I read through your posts, I understand about every 4th word, so forgive my impertinence in asking such a simple question. But I'm tired of getting jerked around by Best Buy and Sony employees who know nothing :x, so I would really appreciate some help. I'm a high school music teacher and need a basic unit for recording CD's.

Hey there everybody. I have a MOTU HD192 and I am just setting it up and I get the meters to jump when I talk into a mic to test everything but I hear no sound through my computer speakers. The CueMix monitoring software shows a good level but my computer speakers make no sound. I purchased SOnar 3.0 Producer but haven't received it in the mail yet.

I recently got the emu-1820 sound card and began toying around with it. I plugged my bass in a just strummed a string to test that it was recording... and this is what resulted. a horrible sounding waverform with all sorts of jagged peaks. now i've had such horrible luck with multitracking. before i had the MOTU 828 with my celeron laptop, and i got similar clicks and pops.

Hey all my first post after getting lots of help as a visitor..here's my dilemma.

I THINKING OF STARTING A LIL HOME STUDIO. I WANT SOMETHING THAT CAN RECORD A WHOLE BAND AND STILL SOUND GOOD.
WHAT DO YOU GUYS THINK ABOUT THE DIGI 02 IS THERE ANYTHING BETTER? IF THE DIGI 02 IS NOT GOOD WHAT DO YOU RECOMMEND?

teh first problem is: when i press record, teh INSTRUMENTAL is recorded along with my vocals? why?

Some of you might remember a thread I posted a while ago about spending US$4000 on preamps. Turns out I'll only have half that money for 6 months, and I have a CD to record that must be out by December.

So, I can only buy one of the pres we discussed, and they were the Langevin Dual Vocal Combo and the Focusrite ISA428.
