Hi, I'm looking for a new home in New York City (6 months to multi year) for my studio. I need a room primarily for mixing/editing but ideally would like to have a glass into some sort of live room for occasional overdubs (guitars, vocals etc).

yeah I'm a newbie here and i would like to know how to synchronize my vocal with a beat. for example if create my beats with fruity loops how can i voice on that rythm. i wanna know if soundforge has that capabilities and other features. and i like ot know about the different sound formats and how to make it flexible when I'm doing my recordings.

Is there a way to get a 8 channel mic preamp and an 8 channel analog summing box in one product? i thought about trying to use a tla audio tube tracker for this would that work?

What is the best recording school out there... I mean like the harvard of recording schools?

my band is looking for someone in the new england area to do some recording. we want to do an album over the course of the rest of the year, but if someone would be willing to do a couple of tracks that would be awesome.

we are called the sanguine, we play slow indie rock similar to low, modest mouse, OWLS.

I would like your opinion on 2 things. Anyone else please chime in as well.

1- Name which compressor you could'nt live without for All applications(Voice, instruments) with a good Price/performance point... aka "Workhorse compressor"

2- Same as above but if you had unlimited funds... aka the "Ultimate Compressor"

I'm obviously fairly new to the world of recording and before i start throwing money away i thought i would post to see if anyone, especially veterans, would have anything to say.
