modifications for Soundcraft Ghost

Hi guys,

I have Soundcraft Ghost in my studio.I want to upgrade my sound, for this i am going to buy AMEK 9098 Eq (mic preamp as front end for my DAW & eq for vocals in the mix). I record mostly acoustic instruments for that I need some more eqs. I want to know whether it is possible to improve the eq section of Ghost or the modification are only for micpre section.

MOTU PCI 324

I was trying to use the WDM driver with Wavelab at the studio. Cud not get it to work full duplex (i cud not monitor through wavelab) so i has to resort to either ASIO or cuemix.

Is this a restriction with the WDM driver of the 324. (i have the latest drivers) ? or was i doing something wrong.. my IO were set right.

thanks

POD XT - HARD ROCK/METAL

My band is finding it VERY hard to find a distortion that we are all happy with using the POD XT.. the distortion sounds we use sound very synthetic no matter what we do, (the clean sounds arnt to bad though)... Ive downloaded about 200 heavy metal presets from the line 6 tone transfer site... and to add to that we have even tried creating our own presets...

Lining Up Phases in DAW?

I've heard people mention that they recommend lining up the phase of different tracks of the same source in their DAWs... I was wondering if, when you have multiple tracks of drums recorded, you would recommend aligning the phases of all the tracks (eg nudging the snare/kick/tom track(s) over to align with their corresponding hits in the overhead mics).

monitor question

Hey I have 300 to spend on a set of monitors. I know this is very limiting, but I got what I got (hey I'm a hobbyist and a realist). I have been looking along the lines of maudio bx5's, the Yamaha msp5's, and a little at passive stuff. I have a set of nice infinity biampable speakers (IL10's, cost $400), but they are standard home audio stuff, not reference monitors.
