Spectrasonics Trilogy and Atmosphere
Forums
Anyone use any of these? I am looking for good bass sounds and trilogy sounds interesting- also atmosphere with so many pads could be a good complement to my set up. I am running Digital performer 4.12 (mac, only, of course) and I do have mach five soft sampler plus garrital personal orchestra. Another option would be a bass and/or a pad library for mach five.

Horrible Chirruping Sound - Earth Loop?
Forums
Hi,
My setup is as follows:
1 live room with 16 feeds through inc. returns to a "control room" with Mackie 1642VLZ desk into amp & monitors.
If I connect everybody through mics & XLRs to the desk that is fine.

balanced/unbalanced
Forums
what are the real advantages of having balanced inputs/outputs ? will not the unbalanced outputs of a mixer (UB502, TS) into the unbalanced inputs of a Monitor (Event TR6, RCA) sound as good, as say their XLR counterparts ? also for other connections, especially over rather short distances ?

Vintech x73 or x73i vs. ?
Forums
Hey guys still narrowing the gap on what gear to get. I was advised by a salesman that the best all around pre for rock/ pop rock and alt country in his opinon was the Vintech X73i. A Neve 1073 clone with EQ. I was also looking at the Vintech X73 (not X73i) and Great River Pre (no EQ)(he said the GR was darker). Also was advised to get the AEA ribbon mic instead of the Royer R-121 .

The best setup to record distorted guitars directly?
Forums
So far I've been using software amp sims like Amplitube, Warp, Thrash, etc. The best results I get when I run a guitar thru my DigiTech RP100 and apply Warp's JC-Clean (RP100 doesn't vave good cab sims) This is the closest I can get to this unique sound of a real miced cabinet.
I've heard that hardware amp sims like POD XT do the job well, do they?
Or, maybe a tube preamp?
How do I convert from 48khz to 44.1 without quality loss?
Forums
Is there anyway I can convert my tracks rendered to 320 kbps 48 khz mp3s to 44.1 khz without any quality loss, so I can burn them on CD without having to render every track over to 44.1khz wavs?
that could take years!. .
PLS Help...
