I'm wondering if there is a considerable difference in the A/Ds on the MOTU 828mkll and M-Audio Firewire 410. We have a 410 already. We will be recording 24/96 for this project. We don't have to worry about the pres on either device. We have a nice one already. Thanks in advance.

Moving closer to purchase, seriously looking at the UA6176. I do Gospel, Urban, Hip hop , Rap, etc. I currently have a Focusrite ISA428 as my frontend. Looking at the UA to augment the ISA (offer color options). I've heard it and liked the way it brought out my SP C-1 mic(also looking to add a SoundeluxU-195 and a AT4060).

So here is my problem. Can anybody help me?

I have recently bought an Otari MX 5050 MK III 8 trk (without manual)
and I am having a very frustrating time trying to record.

When mixing down the CD-RW tracks to the master track the machine always stops recording at 7 minutes, 25 seconds..Is there a way to extend this record time?

One of the guys posted an article on One of the other forums on how they recorded and mixed the Lead Vocals at Motown.They would use two tracks one compressed and one with just reverb i think.Anyway if you want the article I have it .And will only charge 20 bucks ---oh just kidding-- email me and ill send it to you.

New DAW for me, yay.
I have no software yet.
I did install an RME hdsp9632 snd card with newest drivers and firmware. The analog i/o's ARE sending and receiving info thru my outboard sound system, but will not be recognized by 'Windows Media Player' when the RME is set as the default device .
Mobo audio does work(cannot patch either CD drives thru RME).

I'm trying to find out Annie Lennox's most common studio signal chain. ie. mic - preamp etc... Has anyone read this anywhere?

The vocalist in my band has modelled herself on Annie so I'm thinking that similar gear will suit her.
