When making sure I'm getting good levels into my Focusrite ISA 220,
I'm wondering if i should go by the VU Meter or the Digital Input Meter?

I find that If i make sure the input on the VU is getting nice levels
then i can get some nice low compression...

I'm from Argentina and here everything is 6 times expensive than, for say, EEUU. so I'm very worried about making the wrong decision. that's because I can't listen the mics before buying them (yes, believe it!).

hi everyone. i'm working in a couple of studios, so i'm looking for a good pair of monitors to take to work and get used to while i'm setting up my home studio. unfortunately, since i live in australia, it's very difficult to find a place to listen to them. i've heard the Genelec 1031's and the tannoy ellipse 8's.

Hi, I'm new here, I'm not sure on all your technical langauge and adn home recording my band (I'm the guitarist), i've studied music tech at b-tech but as usual, i really have no clue about what I'm doing (I only got a pass).

i am looking to purchase a pretty nice computer interface or workstation. First of all, which would you suggest? Which ones would you suggest? Is the Yamaha 01X any good? I am looking to start a home studio to record my bands music on. I have a bit of recording experience, but am far from being an expert o good for that matter.

Yamaha ns-10 vertical or horizontal yamah sign? does this make a difference? I want to buy some ns-10 from ebay but some are vertical and some are horizontal. - aron

I'm not up to speed with regards to good XLR cable & ends.
I have a chance to grab 8 25' Digiflex cables with Neutrik ends for about $40US.
Just wondering if they're top quality.

I'm just wondering what would be the best way to setup my Focusrite ISA 220 with an MBOX?
I just want to make sure I'm not coloring my sound too much. Here's what I'm doing so far:

After sending back my Roland SI 24 and exchanging it (and a bunch of cash) for a Digi002, I have finally put some tracks down.

Everything with the 002 and Pro Tools worked the first time, very simple so far. Now the fun starts.

I'm looking into replacing my current DDA-console in my production studio. I need something compact since space is an issue but I don't want to compromise in sound, at all. I also do more and more final mixes in my studio (although it's mainly for production) so I'd like to bring up the quality as high as possible.
