I am in the market for new monitors and I can't make my mind up which ones to get. I have a home studio and have been using KRK V4's and love them, but I want another pair to A/B. I was looking at the Mackie stuff and Genelec. My price range is $600 to $1000. I need a truly great, flat pair for mixing and mastering. Can someone help me?

What plugin (RTAS or VST or DX) would you use to simulate an old vinil record (with noise, clicks and limited frequency response)? A client asked me to do it for some kind of joke "ghost" track to go at the end of the record.

First off, great site! I've learned so much from you guys just by reading posts. Ok, so I have a fairly decent, but low budget home studio consisting of an Alesis Studio 32 board, 2 Fostex D-90s, and a whole bunch of outboard gear.

Ok ive recorded plenty of stuff on my computer using a delta 1010 i know its not the best, but i have access to a studio with SSL consoles, api, neve, Great River etc etc.

dbx TDM bundle. when?

Why and wouldn't be cool to have a dbx TDM bundle including dbx 166, 163, 160x, 902's etc etc?

There is pair of LA-4a's in my local gear-mega-store, black face. They are asking $2200 which appears to be way too much for it, from what I've been reading.

I have a lot of questions about the unit before I go in and try to evaluate it.

Does anyone have any experience with this inexpensive plugin ? I am considering it for use with Adobe Audition. Opinionsappreciated.

I started my recording life as an assistant in a jazz/classical studio, then left and did a punk album for my friends back home. Now their band is heavy metal. I can get the EXACT sounds I want for punk drums, but Metal sounds so different.

would I have any problems recording audio trough the Mbox and recording midi through the games port on my motherboard. The motherboard is made by gigabyte and I don't have any problems working with it at the present.
Also can you use the Mbox as a sound card and record onto other programs instead of pro tools.
