Why is my stereo only mono?
Forums
I just got some msp5's off ebay. I plugged them into (out of?) my sound card, which has a single 3.5mm speaker output. Is there even a way to get stereo out of this? I ran a TRS 1/4" adapter, then a 1/4" splitter then two TS cables to each monitor. Now If I pan right, the volume drops--pan left, it increases. Should I use TRS cables also instead of TS?

Distinctive purchase
Forums
What would be the one or two items you would buy that would set your vocal sound apart from the other studios? I'm not complaining about mine but now there are 5 studios within 15 miles of me and none of them have an outstanding vocal sound and I'd like to have it first :)

What is a half track 2 trac recorder
Forums
Hi:
I'm new to the recording field and trying to learn all I can. What exactly is a half track 2 track recorder? I know it's a reel-to-reel deck, but what is the half track all about. Is this used to record your final mix on?
thanks
Keith

How to get the best out of your daw.
Forums
Have any of you decided to get into recording, gone down to the local music store and bought a stand alone daw? If you did you were probably thinking making a recording would be pretty simple.
I thought it would be good to start a thread on daw's, neat shortcuts, problems, and ways around those problems.

Mixer, in and out
Forums
I am using a delta 410 for my audio interface. It has two analog ins, and 10 analog outs. I want to incorporate a mixer into my setup, so that I don't have to unplug my guitar, to plugin my bass, or unplug my microphone to plugin my keyboard. Would one mixer be enough?

Sample Rate Conversion
Forums
What mastering engineers are making masters from a 24 bit premaster that was created on the Masterlink?
But, when you receive the 24 bit premaster on disc you're not going from the MAsterlink to a DAW. You're coming out of your Masterlink into external outboard everything.
You're using outboard Sample Rate Conversion, etc.
