Hi all,
I am just thinking of getting something done with my power. I am currently using APC battery buckup (500 VA) and power conditioner to connect my main studio components (Avalon 737 preamp, Mackie hr824 monitors, PC, synths). My question is: will getting balanced power or voltage regulator units improve the quality of the sound?

I just bought these on ebay for $26.00 plus shipping.

What are Legacy Audio and Video Capture Drivers?
Are they an XP specific thing? Are they necesary? My M-Audio Delta 66 and Omni I/O sometimes acts up, could this be due to a conflict with these drivers? Should I ignore them and install my own sound card's drivers on top of them?

I went to a show in New Orleans a couple of months ago. I went to record a band I admire very much (Deadboy and the Elephantmen).com I had my AKG C3000, and a video camara. Well on the way down there my mic got busted up with half of my luggage. So I just recorded the show with the camcorder's mic. Well I knew It wasn't going to be good, but I didnt know it would be this bad either.

OK, we all have our way of micing/recording pianos, but I would like to get some new ideas from you to try new approaches for a slew of piano recordings I've been asked to do.

What do you use (mics, pres, recording mediums, Micing technique...) in various contexts, like classical, pop, etc..

Seems as though I read that if you change any of your hardware in XP, microsoft knows and your XP program has to get a new code to work. IS this true? Can I just slip my old hard drive in that has archives on it and do like I did on 98? If I get another hard drive, will this cause problems? What is this about?
