The right motherboard for the Right job!
Forums
I'm looking to build a computer for a home studio. I would like to start with the right motherboard. I currently own a Roland EP70 that I some times plug into my computer using MIDI. The only problem is that if I decide to use a sound that comes with the CW8(cakewalk)I get a delay of about 1.5sec. until the sound comes from the spks.

How do get that nice final 2 tracks mix from analog back
Forums
I like the sound of mixing 8 channels out of my 001 into my 1642 mackie. I like separating 8 channel into analog. Sounds big ! Problem is when I record that fat mix back to hard drive the new 2 channels don't sound that good. How do I get that nice separated/fat sound on final 2 tracks.
Ok so how come no mass produced NEVE?
Forums
OK, so I've been lurking everywhere the last few months and have read basically you want Neve, API, Trident or their modern equivelents for Mic preamps and EQ modules in order to get the most from your mics for tracking.

Monitor for projectstudio?
Forums
Hi!
I know that you've been talking about this before...
I've been spending most of my time i the Computing forum since I'm building my first DAW.
Now when I'm almost done I've also spent most of my money on DAW-parts and software. But, I need a pair of monitors for my projectstudio at home, and I need some advice here.

ntfs or fat32
Forums
Good morning from snowysunday toronto. I am learning Cubase sx, and share wav files with co conspirators for mixing fun. Two of us use win2000, the other bloke has a mac based rig. He wants fat32 for the occasional project that goes his way. Most of the material stays with the win2000/sx rigs.

Neve 542 series console
Forums
Does anyone know anything about this little board?
It's touted as being a 12:2:1 console. (The 1 seems a little odd.)
Specifically, do the channel inputs each have their own out as well?

What about this room I have?
Forums
Hi, first off I want to state that I am a "Super Newbie". I just know this is a stupid question, but here goes. I know when you mic vocals, it is best done in a booth, with the right deminsions, and so forth. But I go trough my house from time to time just singing away, and when I get to my dining room my voice pumps up, with great smooth low end, and a jingle kind of high-end .
