Hello everyone! I just started getting into recording and I was wondering if you could help me figure out a few things on my mixer. It’s a vintage Randall Stereo Mixer, and there are a couple of outputs on the back I’m not really sure what they do: Monitor output, Direct to Mon. Bus, 2 effects loops – but only one had a output?

I'm looking for a motherboard for Pentium 4 2.26Ghz, 533Mhz FSB processor. Can you please suggest a reliable motherboard for this processor for DAW applications. I have the maudio audiophile 2496 soundcard. I'll be using this with the cakewalk sonar.

I get a hum from my SB Live 5.1 card that goes away when I unplug my Q10? But no hum from the Q10 alone. And no hum from the SB solo.
I've tried different connections and cables and nothing solves the problem.
This only when monitoring, which is all I use the SB for.
Any one run into this before?

Is it ok to plugin my rackrider and or surge protectors to a ups or should i only use the outlets provided on the ups itself?

hi. i'm thinking of getting PT digi 002, but i want to run it on a titanium powerbook. when will i be able to get software [version 6?] that will let it run on OS X?

because having to run 9 too kinda stinks.

That was an excellent, detailed answer you gave @ "Small Steps" re; Mackies, gain structure and headroom. Thanks for the back up. Sometimes I am a little weary of drowning the inquirer with too much info at one time but you dealt with it in a very succinct manner. It is obvious that you have a handle on the tech side as well as the creative side of things.

I've been lurking in the silent DAW thread and just want to know straight up. What do you guys suggest for a good quite case and power supply. This is for the p4b533 build. I have everything but the case. SOS, OPUS... Let your experience guide me.
